ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌లో స్థానిక సంస్థల ఎన్నికల నిర్వహణకు సంబంధించిన సన్నాహాలు వేగంగా కొనసాగుతున్నాయి. రాష్ట్ర ఎన్నికల సంఘం (SEC) గత రెండు నెలలుగా గ్రామీణ, పట్టణ స్థానిక సంస్థల ఎన్నికలకు అవసరమైన ఏర్పాట్లపై క్షేత్రస్థాయిలో సమీక్షలు నిర్వహిస్తోంది.
తాజాగా 08 October 2026న State Election Commissioner Anil Chandra Punetha జిల్లా స్థాయి అధికారులతో Video Conference నిర్వహించి ఎన్నికల ఏర్పాట్లు, polling arrangements, ballot papers వినియోగం, voter lists వంటి అంశాలపై సమీక్షించారు.
Local Body Electionsకు ఇంకా final election schedule ప్రకటించలేదు. ప్రస్తుత సమాచారం ప్రకారం BC Reservations, SIRకు సంబంధించిన న్యాయపరమైన అంశాలపై Supreme Court నుంచి స్పష్టత వచ్చిన తర్వాత తదుపరి election process ఖరారు కానుంది.
EVMలు కాదు.. Ballot Papersతో ఎన్నికలు
ఈసారి Local Body Electionsలో Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) బదులుగా Ballot Papers ఉపయోగించాలని State Election Commission నిర్ణయించినట్లు తెలుస్తోంది.
స్థానిక సంస్థల ఎన్నికల విస్తృతి దృష్ట్యా అవసరమైన సంఖ్యలో EVMలు అందుబాటులో లేకపోవడం దీనికి ప్రధాన కారణంగా పేర్కొన్నారు. ఎన్నికలకు అవసరమైన ballot boxesను ఇప్పటికే సిద్ధం చేసినట్లు సమాచారం.

Local Body Elections నిర్వహణకు 05-02-2026 వరకు finalised అయిన Photo Electoral Rollsను ఆధారంగా తీసుకుంటారని పేర్కొంటున్నాయి.
అయితే final election notification విడుదలైన తర్వాత polling programme, nominations, polling dates వంటి వివరాలు అధికారికంగా స్పష్టమవుతాయి.

Supreme Court తీర్పు ఎందుకు కీలకం?
ప్రస్తుత సమాచారం ప్రకారం BC reservation మరియు SIR తర్వాత elections నిర్వహణకు సంబంధించిన petitions న్యాయస్థాన పరిధిలో ఉన్నాయి. Supreme Court నుంచి final clarity వచ్చిన తర్వాతనే election notification, reservation framework మరియు తదుపరి scheduleను ఖరారు చేసే పరిస్థితి ఉంది.
ప్రస్తుత సమాచారంలో polling date, nomination date, counting date లేదా complete election schedule ఏదీ ప్రకటించబడలేదు. కాబట్టి social mediaలో circulate అయ్యే unofficial schedulesను final datesగా పరిగణించకూడదు.

Local Body Electionsను ఒకేసారి కాకుండా Phased Mannerలో నిర్వహించేందుకు State Election Commission సిద్ధమవుతున్నట్లు తెలుస్తోంది.
సమాచారం ప్రకారం Supreme Court నుంచి clarity వచ్చిన తర్వాత Municipal Electionsను ముందుగా నిర్వహించే అవకాశం ఉందని పేర్కొన్నారు.
Municipal polls అనంతరం Panchayats, Mandal / Zilla Parishad electionsను stagesలో నిర్వహించే అవకాశం ఉందని తెలుస్తోంది.

Ballot Paper Votingతో ఏ మార్పు ఉంటుంది?
Ballot paper votingలో voter తనకు నచ్చిన candidateకు ballotపై mark చేసి ballot boxలో వేస్తారు. ఎన్నికల తర్వాత ballot papersను manual counting ద్వారా లెక్కించాల్సి ఉంటుంది.
సమాచారం ప్రకారం EVM countingతో పోలిస్తే ballot papers countingకు ఎక్కువ సమయం పట్టే అవకాశం ఉండటంతో results ప్రకటనలో కొంత ఆలస్యం ఉండవచ్చని SEC అంచనా వేసినట్లు పేర్కొన్నారు.
